New for 2010 is our Counselor-In-Training Program!

The Counselor-In-Training Program is to train prospective camp staff members. Scouts 14 years of age by June 1, with summer camp experience, and who are looking forward to serving on camp staff in the future, may apply for a place on the CIT Corps.

The CIT Program will challenge you to learn the skills to be a quality camp staff member. Under the direction of the Program Director, you will be trained in camp counseling, Scoutcraft skills, how to teach and present skills, troop duties, and the personal qualities required to be a successful staff member.

CIT will be involved in all program aspects, serving as staff in a different area each day, shadowed by a trained staff member.

While there is no guarantee of acceptance, participating Scouts can use this opportunity to develop and demonstrate those qualities sought after in future camp staff members. Recreational activities and personal advancement opportunities will also be available. Scouts interested should submit an application.

An application for Junior Camp Staff and the Counselor-In-Training program is included in this Leader’s Guide. Email Joe Brown or call at 010-2213-2137 / 754-3446 if you would like to help in any of the areas listed.

Program Areas and Merit Badge Counselors

Program Areas and Merit Badge Counselor positions are available and must be identified NLT District Roundtable 8 May 2010 (or Merit Badge will be cancelled).

Junior Staff members are also needed to help make Camp Liberty successful. Junior Camp Staff work for the Program Director & Support Camp Operations; they reside in the Junior Camp Staff Housing Area; their Camp fees are waived; and they get to work on Merit Badges.
