Who is a Friend of Scouting?

Any parent, leader, Scout Alumni, or other adult, who makes a contribution to the annual operating budget of the Far East Council.

What is Friends of Scouting enrollment?

A annual fundraising campaign to raise the funds needed to provide council services and programs to youth members, volunteer leaders, and families within the council.

What are these services?

The council provides activities, training, and camping programs; services include Scout store, registration and advancement, and help with unit program. The council provides a Scout store in Japan, Korea and Okinawa, and full-time professional Scouters and other council staff to assist leaders and parents with program needs.

What is the Far East Council?

The council is more than 1,000 volunteer leaders in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore, with an annual youth membership of near 3,000 members.

How much is needed?

Our Friends of Scouting provide 16% of the annual operating funds.
